In my work I create separate distinct pieces – using sculpture, photographs, sound pieces, installations – but these works form part of an ongoing body of work, standing alone and connected. I return time and again to the same conceptual idea, evolving and changing over time, as I evolve grow and change.

then we were tourists
This exhibition is part of an ongoing photographic essay that I started in Dublin in 2003, (Time as Place). I was fascinated at how people (travelers) talked about and saw the place where I grew up. A maudlin and romantic point of view, bearing little resemblance to the actual place. The reality of “place” both political and social ignored. then we were tourists combines information from web blogs and photographs to create an “other” interpretation of place. then we were tourists, can be seen as a continuation of Time as Place.
